Blue Man Group Chicago is seeking a part time Show Carpenter. Responsibilities include: prep of consumable show props, emergency repairs of scenery and props, assisting deck crew during changeover on multiple-show days, work calls for projects as needed. Show carpenter will directly relate to and work with the stage run crew.
Candidate should have thorough understanding of stage mechanics as well as carpentry and rigging skills. Candidate must be self-motivated, innovative and enjoy working in a fast-paced and creative environment. 3+ years theatrical carpentry/props experience required. Must be able to climb ladders and lift 50 pounds. Flexible schedule on nights and weekends is a MUST, as this position will be scheduled primarily on Saturday and Sunday.
This is a part time, hourly position. There is no minimum of guaranteed hours.
