Astor Show Productions is looking for a part time Video Operator/Engineer.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of digital video equipment and be able to identify and repair problems related to the running of the show. Experience with live video switching and hand held camera work is required. Knowledge of video display surfaces and projectors is a plus. Experience with media servers, media playback software such as Qlab, and computer networks is preferred. Applicants should have a fairly flexible schedule and be willing to communicate with the Video Supervisor about weekly and monthly scheduling of shows.
Show responsibilities include preset, executing show cues, and post show or turnover duties in a safe, professional and timely manner. Video Operators must maintain clear communication with Stage Manager and Supervisor regarding the status of the video system.
Part timers are required to run a minimum of 1 show every other week but should expect 1 to 3 shows a week. Availability for occasional daytime work is a plus. Part Timers are also encouraged to attend crew meetings and full company meetings and must be willing to do more shows during the holiday season (Thanksgiving through New Years.)
