BLUE MAN GROUP HOSTED 3RD ANNUAL GRANT A GIFT AUTISM FOUNDATION BENEFIT PERFORMANCE
The Blue Men show us there are so many different ways to communicate and connect. That's why Blue Man Group® at Luxor Hotel and Casino teamed up with Grant a Gift Autism Foundation for its third annual benefit performance on Sunday, June 11 at 4 p.m. For every $36 ticket sold for the performance, Blue Man Group donated $18 to the foundation.
For the sensory-friendly show, there were slight modifications to the performance including reduced sound and light levels at various moments. Additionally earplugs were made available upon request. The Blue Men limited the amount of direct audience interaction and kept their approach to the audience more subdued. Blue Man Group also created calming environments in the theater's lobby for families seeking a break from the excitement.
Thank you to everyone who came and showed their support for the autism community. We look forward to seeing you at future performances!
All domestic Blue Man Group productions will be hosting sensory-friendly shows suitable for children, adults and families affected by autism spectrum disorders on select dates throughout the year. "We've heard from many families affected by autism that their children responded to the Blue Man character in a very moving way. We are thrilled to provide a safe and welcoming environment and are often quite moved by the emotional response to the show," says Phil Stanton, Blue Man Group co-founder.
