Part Time Deck 3 (Props/Run Crew)

Blue Man Group at Astor Place Theater, New York, is posting for a part-time Deck 3 position within the Props department. Deck Crew members are responsible for a variety of duties within the department and community. Responsibilities include, performing preset duties, executing show cues as well as turnover & post show duties in a safe, professional and timely manner. Deck Crew members regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Part Time crew members are responsible for clear communication of notes amongst the Stage Manager, the Deck Lead, and the Props Supervisor. Experience as a member of a backstage run crew in a theatrical production is preferred. This position reports directly to the Props Supervisor and will receive a performance evaluation on an annual basis.

PT Carpenter

Astor Show Productions  is seeking a part time Carpenter for the New York Production of Blue Man Group.  Responsibilities include: performing preset duties, executing show cues as well as turnover & post show duties in a safe and professional manner, emergency repairs of scenery and props, assisting deck crew during changeover on multiple show days, work calls for projects as needed. Show carpenter will directly relate to and work with the stage run crew. Candidate should have thorough understanding of stage mechanics as well as strong carpentry and rigging skills. Theatrical Automations experience is desirable. Candidate must be self-motivated, innovative and enjoy working in a fast-paced and creative environment. 3+ years theatrical carpentry/props experience required. Must be able to climb ladders and lift 50 pounds.

Part-Time Audio Engineer

Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theatre is looking for a part time Audio Engineer.

Responsibilities include: mixing and executing show cues, maintenance of all audio systems in the building, as well as performing preset/turnover/post-show duties in a safe, professional and timely manner. Members of the Audio Crew must maintain clear communication with Stage Manager and Supervisor regarding the status of the audio system.

Responsibilities of this position include:

Processing of all specialty ticket requests (House Seats, Past Dating, Gift Certificate redemptions, etc.) through the Ticket Master System (host platform), Answer incoming Customer Service inquiries & fulfillments via phone & email, Audits of Listings & Ticketing websites, work closely with the Group Sales Department,  Maintain good communication with Treasurer and Box Office staff, Box Office window ticketing sales & customer service including: processing window and broker ticket transactions; maintain accurate box office cash accounts; settle batch reports; coordinate will-call pick-ups and transactions.

Part-Time Video Operator

Astor Show Productions is looking for a part time Video Operator/Engineer.

Candidates should have a working knowledge of digital video equipment and be able to identify and repair problems related to the running of the show. Experience with live video switching and hand held camera work is required.  Knowledge of video display surfaces and projectors is a plus.  Experience with media servers, media playback software such as Qlab, and computer networks is preferred.  Applicants should have a fairly flexible schedule and be willing to communicate with the Video Supervisor about weekly and monthly scheduling of shows.

This is a seasonal part-time position whose responsibilities include covering shows and maintenance hours for the carpentry and fly positions.  This position will begin immediately and will currently end around the end of April 2017.

Part-Time Wardrobe

The Orlando production of Blue Man Group at Universal is looking for a Part Time, Temporary-- Wardrobe Assistant. This position will be primarily responsible for providing additional show coverage, as well as emergency show coverage and occasional maintenance calls. Dates of employment would be approximately October 2016 to March 2017. Due to show schedules, candidate must be available to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, and must be available during the peak seasons of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break.

This position is responsible for Supervising the Electrics Department at the New York production of Blue Man Group, and ensuring that the technical and aesthetic standards of the show’s lighting and electrics- related special effects are at their highest caliber ​

Seasonal/Part Time Cleaning Crew

The Cleaning Crew sub’s primary responsibilities will be day cleaning coverage at the Astor Theatre that will include general maintenance responsibilities such as rubbish removal, vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning fixtures and other ad hoc duties as necessary.

Astor Show Productions is looking for a Lead Video Operator/Engineer. The Lead Video Operator is responsible for running shows, departmental maintenance and repair, and co-coordinating the monthly schedule with the Video Supervisor.
